Behind the Scenes: Lynne Hanson Reveals 4 Behind the Scenes Facts About the Making of New Music Video "True Blue Moon"
/Lynne Hanson knows and believes in the power of music to heal and nurture, and she uses her own music to help others in the way the iconic songwriters of her time have helped her.
As an artist who always shares her personal truth with her listeners, Hanson’s lyrics are honest and open, and she exhibits her vulnerability more than ever on her upcoming album Just Words. Exploring topics like bullying, forgiveness, fate and acceptance, with the help of producer Jim Bryson, the project has pulled her out of her comfort zone like none of her other projects have done before.
The award-winning songwriter recently released her new single “True Blue Moon,” which will be featured on Just Words. Hanson revealed some behind the scenes details about the official music video exclusively for Musical Notes Global readers. Discover them below!
1. “True Blue Moon” is a tongue-in-cheek song about falling in love with a poet. It's about that out of control feeling that we can sometimes have when we fall head over heels in love, and at the impossibility of that romantic fairy tale feeling actually being something that can be maintained over time.
2. We really wanted to capture the humour of the song in the video. When I talked to Lesley Marshall from MAVN who filmed and produced the video, I described this idea of a movie scene from the 1950s where a couple is walking on the beach and the man is professing his love to her. That's where the idea came from to shoot part of the video on the "beach" and the other part in an actual movie theatre.
3. The biggest challenge was staying cool as we filmed the video over two days during one of the hottest heat waves of the summer in Ottawa, Canada.
4. I'm also a huge lover of giant pandas, so we managed to work that theme into the video.
