WATCH: Elodie Delivers Hypnotic New Music Video "Andromeda"

Italian pop songstress Elodie never fails to capture the attention of her listeners with her smokey, soulful vocals and flawless style.

First landing in the spotlight in 2015 as a competitor on the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, the Roman singer has since seen tremendous success with her albums Un’Altra Vita and Tutta Colpa Mia, and singles such as “Nero Bali” featuring Michele Bravi and Gué Pequeno and “Margarita” featuring Marracash.

This year Elodie threw her hat into the Sanremo ring for the second time and quickly became a favorite to win the iconic music festival with the hypnotic hip hop and R&B-flecked song “Andromeda.” As the title suggests, the song, penned by last year’s Sanremo winner Mahmood along with producer Dardust, takes inspiration from the Greek myth of Andromeda, who was chained to a rock as a sacrifice for the sea monster Cetus. In her story, Elodie asserts her strength against her lover—an older but immature man—in order to free herself from the toxicity and the chains of the relationship that weigh her down.
