Soulful singer and songwriter Mario Biondi is set to make his U.S. headlining debut next Tuesday, May 21.

Born in Sicily, Biondi has collaborated with a variety of international artists including Chaka Kahn, Al Jarreau, Burt Bacharach, Omar and James Taylor, Ivan Lins, and Ana Carolina. Not to mention he opened for Ray Charles as a teenager and has sold out London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall.

A platinum-selling artist and a staple on playlists around the globe, Biondi has eight studio albums to his name, including a Christmas collection and a live album, and has won fans all over the world, from Japan to Italy to the United States.

In fact, American listeners already might be familiar with Biondi, whose unmistakable baritone has garnered comparison to the likes of legendary soul singers Barry White and Isaac Hayes. With an ability to effortless sing in both Italian and English, the Catania native lent his voice to a television commercial by Italian beer brand Peroni, covering The Temptation’s hit “My Girl,” which has received wide airplay throughout the U.S.

On May 21, Biondi will perform at the Terrace Theater as part of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ “Unexpected Italy: A Celebration of Italian Culture.” The show marks his first appearance as a headliner in the United States and precedes his upcoming North American tour, which will be announced soon.
