Brooklyn-Based Pop Project Arthur Moon Announces Self-Titled Debut Album

Arthur Moon, a.k.a. Lora-Faye Åshuvud, has a unique approach to songwriting: she often writes her lyrics using cut up newspaper articles!

An award-winning composer/singer, Lora-Faye is an openly queer artist who has received no formal training in composition or songwriting, yet still excels in forming alluring and absorbing stories through intuition and improvisation.

As Arthur Moon, Åshuvud has teamed up with a variety of musicians, including Cale Hawkins (Quincy Jones, Wyclef Jean) and Martin D. Fowler to help her grow and explore new musical boundaries. The project pulls her out of her folk and rock roots, but, at the same time, not completely. Instead she filters those influences through an electro-pop lens, leading to celestial tracks that follow an intriguing concept of incorrect-ness.

Arthur Moon recently announced their upcoming self-titled debut album, and in anticipation of its release, they dropped the single “I Feel Better,” a contemplative track that exposes the glorious inner workings of Åshuvud’s collage-oriented mind. “I wrote this song while I was on an artist residency in the desert of New Mexico, sleeping in a single bed in a windowless room,” she explained. “I was reflecting on my life in New York, the propulsion of anxiety, and how to harness that anxious energy toward being a self-critical member of an artistic community.”
