FAULKNER Drops Highly Anticipated Debut Album PARIAHS
/Bicoastal band Faulkner has been building up a tremendous momentum over the past few years that has resulted in the release of their highly anticipated debut album Pariahs.
Recorded at Shangri-La and East-West studios, PARIAHS was produced by RZA, JP Bowersock (The Strokes), and Mark Needham (The Killers). Opening with the East Coast-flavored banger "Revolutionary," which will no doubt suck anyone into listening to all 10 tracks from start to finish, the collection has something for everyone, incorporating a range of sounds and colors from hip-hop to rock to pop. "If each listener is able to find themselves lost and find meaning on at least one of our songs, then we’ve done our job," bassist Dimitri Farougias said. "It’s a pretty diverse-sounding album, so we hope we reach a wide audience. There are many lyrical themes and several sonic influences. From anger to retribution to hope, and from The Clash to Bowie to Dr. Dre."
With the release of PARIAHS, FAULKNER has become the only band in recent history to feature two collaborations with major rappers on their debut album. Not only did the Los Angeles-based quartet win the attention of Royce Da 5'9," who co-wrote and features on "Keep Your Enemies Closer," but their compelling genre-fusing break-out single "NY Anthem" featuring Wu-Tang Clan's RZA has helped them conquer an ever-growing audience, propelling them to airplay on LA's KROQ radio station and major sports outlets like ESPN, as well as at New York Yankees home games.
"It’s a significant moment for us since we’ve poured so much into it," Farougias said about the album's release. "We’re proud of the body of work and we're really happy that we get to share it."
PARIAHS is a definite must-listen from a band to keep an eye on. Get it now on digital music platforms.
