Scrub & Ace Ha Release 2nd Installment in "Plastic Rock" Series
/American hip-hop duo Scrub and Ace Ha have just released the second installment in their "Plastic Rock" YouTube series.
Set over the crazy cool soulful beat of Joe Cocker's "Feelin' Alright," "Plastic Rock Vol. II" speaks to the importance of doing your own thing and how even though you might be doing something different than the rest it doesn't mean that what you're doing is less significant.
"This was a fun one to make and came very easily," Scrub explained. "I've always loved this joint and wanted to flip this beat for a long time. Joe Cocker's Woodstock performance still busts me up every time I see it. I met Dave Mason a few times, who wrote the original and told me he slapped it together in an hour. I was thinking a lot about the virtues of being self-reliant at the time and this felt like a perfect match. This was about taking your own path and doing for self, for better or worse."
The "Plastic Rock" series sheds a new light on popular classic rock songs by integrating boombap beats and fresh lyrics. In case you missed it, check out "Plastic Rock Vol. I" here, and don't forget to come back to musicalnotesglobal.com for the next installment!
