Watch: Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Almost Like Praying" ft. Artists for Puerto Rico
/In the aftermath of the hurricanes that have affected Puerto Rico, Latin artists have joined forces with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to help raise money for recovery efforts.
Tommy Torres, Luis Fonsi, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Rita Moreno, and more were featured on the song, which was written and composed by Miranda and sung almost entirely in Spanish. A dynamic pop track featuring a vibrant dancehall rhythm with lyrics that make mention of all 78 of the towns in Puerto Rico, it takes its title and hook from the famed song "Maria" from West Side Story, a play that is known, in some Spanish-speaking countries, as Amor Sin Barreras, or "Love Without Barriers."
"Almost Like Praying" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart dated Oct. 28. The music video features scenes of Puerto Rico and exclusive images from Miranda's travels and recording sessions. Watch "Almost Like Praying" below and download or stream the song here.
Last night, Miranda shared a behind the scenes look at the making of the benefit single with NBC. Watch here. Proceeds from the sale of "Almost Like Praying" will be donated to the Hispanic Federation's UNIDOS Disaster Relief Fund.
