Watch: "Invocation" Boxedge ft. Maryana Bodnar

Ukrainian classical singer Maryana Bodnar has teamed up with Italian songwriter/musician/producer Boxedge (aka Alessandro Bemporad) to bring listeners an innovative new crossover project.

"Invocation" marks the debut of this collaboration that combines contemporary electronic music with Bodnar's elegant vocals. Haunting and mystical, this prayer-like song touches upon our search for the meaning behind our struggles and serves as a plea for protection against the evil that exists in the world. It also features lyrics in the ancient language of Sanskrit translating to "I call your name/Show me the light again/And save me from evil and pain," which further strengthen the message of the song.

Directed by Alla Karnalli, the ethereal music video was filmed in Tuscany and expresses the meaning of the lyrics through stunning imagery that includes scenes of the medieval Abbey of San Salvatore and San Lorenzo in Settimo. Watch below.
