Multicultural Duo WAPEA Drops Sensual Feel-Good Jam "Vacilar"

One of our favorite duos of the moment, multi-cultural music project WAPEA, has released another new single.

Written by the pair themselves—songwriters/producers Jovany Barreto and Tat Tong—with the collaboration of David Marcus and Danny Murcia, “Vacilar” is a feel-good jam that’s sure to become a staple on summer playlists everywhere. “Vacilar is about being able to have a great time by ya mother fuckin self,” WAPEA told Musical Notes Global.

The super smooth Spanglish R&B track also celebrates women and their independence, a theme that the duo represents in the song’s accompanying visuals.

Colorful and sensual, the music video, which was directed by Renzo Novelli (Farruko, Bad Bunny), is an admirable example of creative freedom. Featuring loosely sketched images of women over vibrant abstract backgrounds, it enhances the overall message of the song, simultaneously illustrating the unique allure of women and the power of art through organic animation while also demonstrating WAPEA’s dedication to exploring and experimenting with various forms of visual mediums. “What we appreciate most about our video is that it depicts a woman as she should be...a work of art,” the duo said.

“Vacilar” follows the success of WAPEA’s self-titled debut single, as well as their previous single “Maldita” featuring Colombian singer, songwriter, and producer Feid.

The duo is currently working on their debut album, which is set to release later this year via Rebeleon Entertainment.
