[EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE] Anime Shares Debut Single "Cherry"

Austin-based instrumental trio Anime is shaking up progressive rock with a touch of electricity and a whole lot of heart.

Formed earlier this year, the band unites guitarists Emilio Rendon and Jarrod Apodaca and drummer Hayden Griffis, and together they have constructed a compelling sound that sweeps listeners away into an exciting wave of emotion.

Today Musical Notes Global has the exclusive premiere of Anime’s debut single “Cherry,” a dynamic track that, much like a bout of frustration or anxiety, moves from high-energy pandemonium to mellow serenity and back again. “It’s a driving/angsty and in your face kind of song,” they say. “Hayden came up with the name ‘Cherry.’ We all couldn’t think of one and that was the first thing he suggested so we all agreed on it. We didn’t plan it being our first single though. People just seemed to dig this one.”

In addition to being their debut single, “Cherry” was also one of the first songs the band wrote together and is the first single to be released from their debut EP, which is scheduled to drop in 2020. Listen to “Cherry” below.
