Albums We Love: Creo En Mí (2015)-Natalia Jiménez

If you’ve been following this blog, you’ll know how much we love Natalia Jiménez and her music. Recently nominated in the Favorite Female Artist category for the first ever Latin American Music Awards, she began her career as a member of the Spanish duo La Quinta Estación in the early 2000s. Natalia has quickly become accomplished as a solo artist over a short period of time and her voice, which in our opinion is one of the best female voices in the industry, has been compared to that of Celine Dion.

Creo En Mí, released in March, is one of the best of the year. After the title track was released at the end of 2014, we could barely wait to hear the album in its entirety. Natalia has the unique gift of being able to convey a sparkling sense of genuine emotion with her vivid, expressive, heart-stirring voice; and her passion for her craft naturally radiates through each song she sings. Deeply personal and loaded with vocal power, the album brings the listener on a journey through a full range of emotions, from the greatest joy down to devastating heartbreak.

Our Favorite Songs from Creo En Mí: “Creo en Mí,” “Quédate Con Ella,” “Algo Brilla en Mí,” “Tú y Yo”

“Creo en Mí” absolutely blew us away the first time we heard it, and it continues to do so each time we listen to it. Breathtaking, empowering, powerful, and inspiring, “Creo en Mí” is the perfect anthem, reminding us that we can do anything if we just believe in ourselves.

Is there such a thing as a fun break up song? Well, “Quédate Con Ella” is definitely one of them! And that ranchera flavor? Perfection!

“Algo Brilla en Mí” perfectly shows off her versatility as an artist. This upbeat track is one of the best from Natalia and from this album. Joyful and full of good energy, it's a ray of sunshine captured in a song. See it featured on April’s list of our Top 5 Latin Songs of the Moment, and check out the awesome remix, featuring Colombian urban artist Maluma on July’s list.

Stunningly gorgeous in its vulnerability, “Tú y Yo” is a gentle and tender ballad. See it featured on June's list of our Top 5 Latin Songs of the Moment. Check out her live performance from La Voz Kids below.
