Our latest musical obsession comes to us from Austria. Conchita Wurst, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, just released her debut album Conchita at the end of May, and we’re loving it!

The album is solid as a whole, but as with any album, we have some favorites:

“You Are Unstoppable” is undoubtedly a standout. We already briefly mentioned this track in our recap of Eurovision this year. After seeing Conchita perform it at ESC, it quickly became a favorite and we’ve had it on repeat ever since. We’re suckers for a good motivational anthem and this one is perfection. If you don’t feel more confident after listening to this song, well then we don’t know what to tell you, but we find ourselves saying “You Are Unstoppable” more often now.

“Put That Fire Out” is another dynamic song. We love the powerful chorus behind Conchita on this track, which only enhances the impact of its message.

The club-ready “Firestorm” has a style that is reminiscent of the late 80’s/early 90s but with a modern flare. We can’t help but feel like we need to get up and dance when this song comes on.

And of course we have to mention “Rise Like a Phoenix,” Conchita’s stunning and empowering Eurovision-winning song. Along with “You Are Unstoppable,” it inspires us to overcome whatever obstacles may stand in our way.
